BIP Day 6 - How To Double Your Writing Speed With The Magic Bullet Method
A simple step that saves you hours
Note: I’ll be starting each build-in-public update with “BIP Day [number]” from now on.
If you're going to make it as a content creator, you've got to create a boat loads of content.
The problem: Most writing is bloated and then has to be cut which wastes time.
The solution: speed writing with magic bullets. Magic bullets work by forcing brevity. You avoid bloat completely.
Here are the steps to using the magic bullet approach.
1) Question outline
You outline your content with questions such as "What is the concept I'm teaching?", "Why is it important?" and "How do you use it?"
2) Magic bullets
You answer each question with bullets. That way you catch any murky thinking before committing to paragraphs.
3) Easy paragraphs
Expand on the bullets to complete the writing.
Here's an example of the magic bullets from my work on Day 6 of building my course in public.
Part 2: The Writing Process
