3 Simple (But Effective) Pieces Of Advice I’d Give Anyone Starting in Online Course Building
These ideas can save you months of wasted effort
I have been creating online courses for 12 years.
These are the 3 simple (but effective) pieces of advice I'd give anyone starting out (or who wants to get started):
Advice #1: Start small
Don't aim to create a planet-sized course. That's a recipe for procrastination. Built an atomic course you can assemble in a week.
Advice #2: Create from experience (not research)
People want your battle-tested wisdom, not a research paper. Tell them what YOU did and how YOU did it.
Advice #3: Find a problem
Don't sell a course to teach a topic. Sell a course that solves a problem. Figure out the problem, then aim the course like a laser to solve it.
Honestly, I wish someone had told me these 3 things earlier in my career.
But I'm at least glad I can pass them along to you.
In the next few weeks, I’ll be completing a course on how to create tiny courses that pack a big punch. AKA Atomic Courses.
